Redmill Advance is the regulated learning and development channel of the wider Redmill Group. In this business channel, we offer regulated exam support to help students pass CII and CISI exams. Our programmes are delivered via a learning management system and include reading, video, e-learning, assessments, and exams. The wider corporate proposition includes supporting businesses with academies where we are responsible for supporting hundreds of new industry entrants each year, getting them qualified, and transitioning them into the workplace.

About the role

As a technical writer, you will be responsible for writing new content as well as checking and updating existing content. In a nutshell, you will;

  • Continually enhance our existing learning programmes with the addition of new content
  • Be tasked with content creation of new learning programmes
  • Creation of technical exam questions
  • Ensuring all content is relevant and in line with current CII and CISI syllabus
  • Contributing to technical articles from time to time in collaboration with the marketing team

About you

Whilst this role at its core is about taking complex regulatory content and putting it into an easy to understand format, you will have to be able to;

  • Put yourself in the students shoes and understand the importance of embedding learning
  • Create excellent technical content that’s relevant, accurate, and robust enough to ensure it is all students need to pass their exam
  • Take existing CII and CISI content and write bespoke new content weighted correctly in accordance with the relevant bodies syllabus
  • Encompass flow charts, examples, and illustrations that simplify the complex

Must haves

  • You must hold the Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning as a minimum
  • Have experience writing technical content, ideally in a learning capacity
  • Have meticulous attention to detail
  • Be able to work to deadlines


  • Advanced level regulatory qualifications
  • Experience writing learning programmes for regulated financial advice
